Duvall dribbles her way into a division one college.

Sophomore Lindsey Duvall has received 13 offers from various colleges to play basketball.

Being only a sophomore, Duvall is well ahead of her teammates. Not only is she ahead of the majority of her teammates, she is also one of the best players in the state. But, that being said, this young basketball player didn’t just wake up one day with multiple offers in the mailbox. She had to work very hard to get to this point. Duvall has spent most of her free time practicing on her own. Her statistics and her offers show just how hard she is working.

This young basketball player is in the top ten free throw shooters in Kentucky. She has an accuracy percentage of 82.6, which places her right underneath Briana Lanham from Madison Southern High School.

Duvall has been playing basketball for twelve long years. Out of this time, she has spent four years at East. Out of the other players on Bullitt East’s basketball team, she has a lot of seniority even though she is only sixteen. Chris Stallings, head coach of the girls’ basketball team, said, “Lindsey has some skills that are hard to attain. Her mid- range jumper is very good, and she is very good in the open court at getting to the paint. She also passes the ball well in transition. Lindsey has the ability to play a wing or point in college, and a lot of colleges are looking for players that can fill multiple roles for them. Lindsey’s work ethic and willingness to put in a lot of hours after practice is something that has helped get her where she is today.”

When exciting and stressful decisions come about, it calls for different opinions and reactions. In addition to everyone’s opinions, Duvall wants to please her teammates the most.. Duvall reports feeling “excited but also stressed at times.”

Like mentioned earlier, Duvall also has teammates that have different reactions. Duvall said, “everyone has been supportive of the attention she has been receiving.”

Duvall’s offers run into a blur in her mind. Not any one college stands out specifically just yet, but the offers as a total are all very flattering in Duvall’s opinion. These offers include Louisville, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan, and Maryland.

When Duvall’s high school years come to a closing, everyone will be waiting for her decision. Overall, this will be the hardest decision that Duvall will have to make for her future. She must consider the factors: the campus, the coach, the team, the players, the overall opportunity. Duvall said, “I want to go to a school that can win the NCAA tournament and teammates and coaches that I’m comfortable with.”

This opportunity is both great for Duvall and Bullitt East.
