With the new chromebooks, students and teachers face a new experience in this nowadays paperless world.

Most students feel that chromebooks do not add any advantage to their learning ability because teachers still require pencil and paper work. Most teachers are still learning how to get a hang of the new chromebooks and are trying to make lesson plans accordingly. Many students like their chromebooks but are unsatisfied with the internet connection and accessibility of the chromebook.

Students feel that the chromebooks do not impact their learning, in fact they have ran into more problems instead of good. Students are having trouble connecting to the wifi at school, and this is a major problem when nowadays everything is online.“It always glitches out, and you have to have wifi to use them,” said freshman Max Gauthier.

The objective for chromebooks seemed to be “easier access”, with a new route of learning for students and a new teaching technique for the teachers. “Chromebooks will impact achievement by allowing our student a different avenue to explore and look for other ways to problem solve,” said the principle Mr. Mason.

The new chromebooks have been a huge change for the teachers. Offering new ways to teach with many different ways to approach problems. To add on teachers with classes with seniors, poses a new challenge because the seniors were not in the plan for chromebooks.

These chromebooks have also been very distracting in class. Teachers say they have caught students opening new tabs and playing on games during class. “I have already seen students off topic,” said teacher Mrs. Molter.

Teachers are also thankful for the new chromebooks for allowing them to save tree by not printing out thousands of copies. “I would make on average 1,000 copies a week,” said Mrs. Molter.

Some students enjoy their new chromebooks because it a new platform to learn on. Although the seniors get the short end of the stick when it comes to chromebooks, some seniors think that they are not left. The chromebooks to not offer that much of an advantage, and the seniors feel they are better off without them. To add on, some senior feel they do not need one because they do not have classes that incorporate the chromebooks to the class. They feel that the chromebooks do not impair their learning “Not even a little bit,” said senior Karli Yarbrough.
