Meredith Bass

Meredith Bass is the freshman class representative for the 2016-2017 school year. Bass was excited to be on the ballot  as she was not expecting to be. “I feel so honored to represent the freshman class,” said Bass. She is a part of the track team.

Zak Perdew

Zak Perdew is the freshman class representative for homecoming court. Perdew was surprised that his class chose him. “I was a little surprised by it but I was mostly excited because it’s a huge honor to get recognised by the whole school,” said Perdew. He is currently a part of the soccer and basketball team, and potentially a part of the FBLA club as well as the baseball team.

Tyler Steinmetz

Tyler Steinmetz is on the homecoming court for the first time this year. He is the male sophomore class representative. Steinmetz wasn’t expecting to win but was happy to hear his name being called over the intercom. “I think it’s just going to be a cool experience,” said Steinmetz. He believes that him being nice to everyone he meets is what got him on the homecoming court, as well as people just seeing a familiar name.

Maddie Saylor

Maddie Saylor, the female sophomore class representative, was nervous when hearing her name being called with the other homecoming winners. Saylor was excited to be nominated. She is a member of the Beta Club as well as the cheer team. “I just love talking to everyone and being friends with them so I guess everyone nominated me as their friend and it’s awesome that they did,” said Saylor.

Marlene Michel

Because she has not had the chance to know a lot of the freshman, Marlene Michel did not know she would be chosen. “I was very grateful to be on it,” said Michel. Some of her involvements include teen court, United for East, pep band, ensemble, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Beta Club, National Honors Society, Vice President of Bullitt East Congress, Honor Guard, Future Educators Club, Pisti House Representative, and possibly Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. Outside of school, Michel will soon be volunteering at Baptist Health, is learning to play the piano and saxophone, has already learned to play the clarinet and bass clarinet, and will possibly start an internship at Buckman & Farris Law, and helps out at her church as much as possible.

Logan McKenna

Although Logan Mckenna is happy to be a junior class representative on homecoming court, he will be more focused on the game than anything. This is McKenna’s third year being on the court. McKenna is not completely sure why his classmates nominated him. He is a member of the varsity football team.

Connor Green

Connor Green wasn’t expecting the win because of him being a nominee in the past. “I have been on the court before. A bunch of people don’t like to vote for past winners,” said Green. He believes being friends with many people as well as being on the basketball team helped him to be nominated. Green is currently on the basketball team, runs track, and is a part of the Red Zone Rowdies.

Adam Moore

Adam Moore was shocked and excited when he heard his name being called as a senior class nominee for homecoming king. Moore believes that the band helped him to get the nomination. “Well I’d mentioned it to the band kids to vote for me, but I didn’t think it’d be enough,” said Moore. He claims that a lot of the band and choir kids look up to him, giving him their vote. Moore is in the National Honors Society and the Band/Marching Band. In past years he has been a part of advanced choir as well.

Megan Lancaster

Megan Lancaster, a senior class homecoming court nominee, was excited but surprised to find out she had been voted on the homecoming court. “I was in the hospital unconscious and I found out about it after waking up,” said Lancaster. The main reason Lancaster believes she got on the court was her friends wanting her to be happy. She is happy to be on the court.

Konnor Polson

Konnor Polson is nominated for homecoming court for the third time. Because of this, Polson wasn’t as excited as the other nominees. It wasn’t a big deal to him to be on it again. Polson plays football and basketball for East.

Brooke Stivers

Brooke Stivers is a well known senior at East. She has never been on the court before so hearing her name be called was exciting for her. Even though she thought she had a good chance, she was surprised to be on it. Stivers is very involved in school and tries to get others involved as well. She believes that being involved in your school is very important. “I take pride in Bullitt East,” said Stivers. Stivers is Vice President of the Beta Club, President of congress, a part of the cheerleading team, National Honors Society, United for East, and the Charger Bank.

Jake Reece

Jake Reece was not expecting a nomination. “I didn’t really think about it,” said Reece. He was happy to be nominated with his girlfriend, Alyssa Peak. This is his first time being on the homecoming court. Reece believes that being involved and having awesome friends is what helped him to be nominated. Some of his involvements include playing Varsity baseball, being a part of Beta Club, Redzone Rowdies, and is the boys basketball representative for student congress.

Alyssa Peak

Alyssa Peak has been a homecoming court representative every year. In previous years, Peak has been on the track team as well as the softball team. She currently plays basketball, is a member of the National Honors Society, Beta Club, basketball congress representative, and she is a House Rep. Peak was surprised to be on the Homecoming Court this year. She was excited to be a part of it because her boyfriend is on it as well. She believes that her involvement at East as well as her peer interaction is what got her a spot on the court.

Claire Feldhaus

Claire Feldhaus is nominated for the homecoming court for the first time her senior year. Feldhaus was shocked to hear her name being called with the senior class representatives. “It feels good to know that my peers think highly of me and want to see me represent the senior class on the homecoming court,” said Feldhaus. Even though she wouldn’t have been upset if she wasn’t on it, she is happy to be a part of it. Feldhaus plays volleyball in the fall, runs track in the spring, as well as being a part of yearbook, National Honor Society, and Beta Club. On top of that, she tries to be in the Red Zone for as many sports as she can.

Will Rucker

Will Rucker, first time homecoming court nominee, would have been just fine with making it to the website poll, so he was very surprised to hear he made the court. “I don’t really feel like I’m that popular, so it was sort of a big shock if I’m being completely honest,” said Rucker. Rucker believes that it may have been his fancy Friday Twitter polls that made people vote for him. His involvements include football, academic team, rocketball, and possibly drama club when football ends.

Kyarra Carroll

Kyarra Carroll is very excited to be a homecoming court nominee. When hearing her name called with the other nominees, she was very surprised. When talking with her friends they said they would love to see her on it but she never expected to make it as far as she did. “I was really excited. I couldn’t stop smiling. I have never been nominated for anything like this, so at first I was shocked that I actually made it,” said Carroll. Carroll is on the dance team for the fourth year, is in National Honors Society, and the Kentucky Discovery Club.
