That’s a wrap.

The softball team finished their season last week with a loss to J-Town in a walk off in the district tournament, 2-1.

The Lady Chargers lost in the opener of districts and finished the season with a 9-16 record. This season was a roller-coaster ride to say the least, but the season certainly was a learning experience for the young Charger squad.

The district game came down to the last inning as J-Town and the Lady Chargers were tied. J-Town hit a walk off single to win the game. Junior Karley Dawson and seventh grader Briley McBride was named to the all district tournament team for their performance in the district game.

The Chargers had just two seniors on roster this season, Lindsey Decker and Krista Watts, and it was evident in the biggest game of the season. Although, the potential for this young group is through the roof, as they picked up good wins against rival Bullitt Central, Fern Creek and Nelson County. The Lady Chargers defeated Nelson County twice by a score of 11-0 on May 11 and 12-1 on May 17. The Lady Chargers defeated Fern Creek on April 30 by a score of 11-7. The Lady Chargers biggest win was against county rival Bullitt Central, 26-2.

The Lady Chargers can keep their heads high as they plan to work hard over this off-season and come back next season better than ever.
