Lady Charger Soccer Carries a Season Record of 10-4

They’re moving their way up in the rankings.

Over the past two weeks, the Lady Chargers have only lost one game.

Last week, the girls soccer team had two games, one game against Thomas Nelson and another against Pleasure Ridge Park. This week, they competed against Whitefield, DuPont Manual and New Albany. The team will have their senior night tomorrow at home as they look to face Mercy.

Both junior varsity and varsity were able to win their games against Thomas Nelson Wednesday, Sep. 12. Junior varsity walked away from the game with a score of 4-0 and varsity left with a score of 6-2.

Saturday, Sep. 15 varsity had an easy win against PRP with a final score of 10-0. Junior varsity also won 4-1. Two days later, the game against Whitefield proved to be an easy win for the Charger with another 10-0 final score. There was not a junior varsity game against Whitefield.

Dismantling the Chargers from their winning streak, varsity lost to duPont Manual at home with a score of 4-0 Wednesday, Sep. 19. However, junior varsity was able to win with a score of 6-2.

Over this weekend, the team traveled to New Albany and both junior varsity and varsity won their games. Junior varsity had a final score of 3-0 and the varsity game ended with a score of 4-1.

Tomorrow, the ladies will celebrate their senior night for seniors Carly Witt, Carley O’Neill and Madison Gregory. Mercy will travel to Bullitt East tomorrow night and kickoff will be at 5:30 p.m. Last year, the Chargers beat Mercy for the very first time and the team is looking for another win this year.
