The Lady Chargers Are Going Strong

A successful ending to a stressful week.

The Lady Chargers played a lot of volleyball last week, but they came out on top.

The team played four games last week. They had a very successful weekend. The Lady Chargers will get a little bit of relaxation this week.

Last week was a busy one for the Lady Chargers. They played Tuesday, Oct. 1 against Whitefield Academy. They won that game in three straight sets.

Thursday, Oct. 3 the team took on Shelby Co. on the home court. The team won all sets; 25-16, 25-22 and 25-17.

Senior Morgan Renneisen said, “It feels really good to end last week with 2 wins. We have lost some pretty tough games in the past few weeks so to go 2-0 really gave us some confidence going into our tournament.”

Then the team traveled to Williamsburg to play in the Whitley County Tournament. Despite coming in third place, the team ended the weekend with a record of 4-1. Senior Carissa Kimball said, “It was overall a fun week for team bonding and easy wins.”

Kimball said, “We only practice Wednesday to prepare for our game Thursday against Nelson County. We beat Nelson County in pre-season so practicing doesn’t feel necessary.” The team will play Thursday, Oct. 10 against Nelson Co. Then they will hit the road Saturday, Oct. 12, to Lexington to play in the KBA Halloween Smash.
