Showcasing the hard work.

Bullitt East hosted the Bullitt Athletics Cheer showcase Sunday, Oct. 20 where both programs performed their routines non-competitively.

Although this was a non-competitive event, the team still had their goals in mind for their very first performance. “Our goal was to hit our routine. Although we did not hit, we are still doing good for this early in the season. Hitting means landing all of our tumbling and keeping our stunts in the air,” said Katelyn Mattingly, junior.

The team is able to use this performance to guess how they think they will perform in their upcoming competitions. They’re taking every bit of information they can in order to improve. “I have a really good feeling about this year. We are working really hard to nail the excellent routine we have. It’s always hard at first, working out the rough edges and learning to work together as a team,” said Mattingly.

The teams first competition will be Saturday, Nov. 2 at Bullitt Central High school.
