Senior Molly Shannon and senior Madeline Myers listening to me as I explain the magic trick. Aug. 19, Shannon and Myers watched a magic trick, and they were completely bewildered on how the magic trick was done. “Yes, I would, because you are a natural entertainer, not only because you are doing entertainment work in itself, but because of the way that you approach your performances. You know how to keep an audience intrigued. You make tricks seem as impressive as possible in how you debunk each and every way that people would think the trick is done, and the facial expressions you have that communicate, ‘This is no big deal,’ even while people try to process the seemingly nonexistent explanation there is for the trick other than magic,” said Myers.

Senior Molly Shannon and senior Madeline Myers might be different people, but they definitely share something similar.

After performing a magic trick to Shannon and Myers, the outcome ended up being where they and I both picked the same exact card.

Shannon really did like watching the trick and was surprisingly confused, to the point of being speechless. Myers agrees, with her being pretty fooled as well. If Shannon or Myers had the chance, they wouldn’t hesitate to hire me as a form of entertainment for an event.

During the magic trick, she and Myers had to agree on a card to pick out of a completely shuffled deck of cards, and then, move it to the top, give the deck a cut, while I would do the same thing. We would trade decks of cards, and they would find their card in my deck, and I would find my card in their deck. To their surprise, it came out to be the same exact card.

“I was extremely fooled. I’m still even confused on how the trick worked. I would say I was so fooled, because I’ve never even seen a trick like that before, so the initial shock stuck with me,” said Shannon.

On a scale from zero to 10, Shannon believes that it was an eight when it came to how entertained she was. “I would say about an eight. The only reason why I would not say a solid ten is because I have seen you do other tricks that have impressed me slightly more. Nonetheless, the trick still left me in shock,” said Shannon.

If Shannon did know how the magic trick was actually put together, and performed, she would not go out and perform this magic trick. “I do not think I could, because I would most likely get confused, and mess up,” said Shannon.

“I was very fooled because even despite having heard how other card tricks have been done, I still can’t seem to figure out how you would have picked out the card Molly and I selected. It’s not like you would have been able to pinpoint where the exact middle of the card was without counting, especially as there were an even amount of cards to pick the card we chose. So, I’m not sure how else it could have been done,” said Myers.

On a scale from zero to 10, Myers believes that it was an eight out of 10, when it came to how truly entertained she was. “While the trick was very cool in how mysterious the strategy was, I think because I’ve been exposed to many card tricks, and figured out the exact ‘magic’ behind the trick, I feel like the way it was done couldn’t be too hard to figure out. I feel like there isn’t too big of a variety for the strategies behind card tricks, and they are therefore easier to solve,” said Myers.

It could have been a higher number if there was actually a more complex strategy behind the magic trick, in itself. If Myers did actually know how the magic trick was actually put together, and performed, she would definitely go out and perform this magic trick. “I probably would because giving people even the slightest bit of entertainment throughout their likely chaotic and stressful days is always worth it. I also feel like performing magic tricks has sadly become a bit of a lost art as you rarely see magicians much anymore unless you seek them out. It would do well to incorporate that back into society more,” said Myers.

Shannon would definitely hire me as a form of entertainment for an event, and she thinks other people should too, because I’m shocking, entertaining, and I have a variety of magic tricks.

Myers also thinks that other people should definitely hire me.

Both Shannon and Myers would be interested in seeing another magic trick.

Now, if you’re interested in seeing a magic trick from me, and getting to be on, “Brodie’s Monthly Magic,” or you have a friend that you think would be interested in that, then you can email me at: [email protected].
