Girls Golf Finishes Off Record Season

Junior Alayna Wells takes a swing down the course. Over the long offseason, she worked on her game and improved, but as a team, they could not make the advances they had hoped for due to COVID-19. Coach Larry Steinmetz said, I just haven’t been able to work with them as much as I normally would so we haven’t gotten that progress that I was hoping that we would. I was hoping that we would take a pretty big jump this year and we just haven’t had the opportunity to do that.”

Losing the tournament was a bittersweet moment because the girls worked together as a team but it was almost as if their hard work didnt pay off. Alayna Wells and Shelby Hatter are now better prepared for future tournaments. I won my match by a lot which doesnt happen a lot so I was really proud of myself, said Wells.

Brown receiving her fourth place trophy at the Central Hardin Bruin Invitational. This tournament was held on Aug. 2 where she shot a 76. Brown was hoping for a lower score as shes used to placing higher, We always practice what we should do or need to work on... Sometimes as a team, tournaments don’t go as well as practice, said Brown.
