Penn Station: Bullitt East coast subs.

East’s very own Layne Cutler was awarded with Penn Station’s Athlete of The Month Award for the month of December.

Cutler made the best of her senior year playing soccer by helping out her team to the best of her ability. For her achievements, Penn Station chose Cutler to be the December Athlete of The Month. Along with being recognized, the senior gets a lot of other benefits as well.

In the 2015 soccer season, Cutler helped her team out tremendously. In the 25 games in the season, the left-forward had 28 assists, averaging 1.1 per game. By doing so, Cutler was listed as the number one assist leader on KHSAA’s website. Cutler was also recognized for making 1st Team All-Region, along with teammates Christian Foster, Kelsey Castle, and Megan Lancaster.

In December, Cutler will be known at Penn Station as the Athlete of The Month. “There have been two or three other athletes already chosen, and then there will be more chosen each month until the end of the year. Then they [Penn Station] chose an Athlete of The Year, who gets a five thousand dollar scholarship,” said Cutler.

Besides just being honored with being chosen, Cutler will also get to indulge in many other benefits. She too will be entered to win a five thousand dollar scholarship. Along with that, Cutler also gets to bring 10 friends to Penn Station to eat for free.

Congratulations to Layne!
