All good things come to an end.

After a great run to end the season, the basketball team had their banquet this past Thursday. Many great things have happened for the 2018-2019 charger basketball team and many records were broken. To go along with the great season, many special awards were given out and a lot of players were recognized for their accomplishments.

Before the team found out who was the leader is in each statistic, head Coach Jason Couch had to honor a specific senior and a standout sophomore, Josiah Morris. When sophomore Josiah Morris isn’t working on basketball skills, he is improving his academic ones. Morris has a solid GPA of 4.0, which is hard with all of the extra activities he does. On the other hand, senior Brandon Hall does all of the dirty work, and his award fits him perfectly. Hall was awarded the sacrifice award because he was always there for his team on any occasion.

Every player on the team had something to do with every win, but some players provided more than others. Star point guard, Zak Perdew led the team in categories such as scoring, steals, and free throw percentage. Along with his scoring, Tyler Steinmetz hit the most three-pointers of the season. The remaining starters supported the team big time. Rece Watson had the most rebounds of the season while Thomas Wisehart had the most Assists. In the end, this group of boys exceeded all expectations and beat the odds.
