You either win or you learn.

Although the girls had their third loss of the season, they are using it as a lesson rather than a defeat.

Earlier in the week, the Lady Chargers won their two matches against Mercy Academy and Fern Creek. On Thursday, they lost to Christian Academy Louisville. Despite the defeat, the Lady Chargers are working hard to make this season the best it can be.

Monday, Sept. 30, the Lady Chargers played against Mercy Academy winning with the score 8-0, East. Goals were made by sophomore Emma Wright, junior Lauren Clark, and seniors Emily Ezell, Chole Holt, Tayler Mahoney, Emily McDonald, and Rory O’Connor.

The Lady Chargers had a district game against Fern Creek Wednesday, Oct. 2. The girls took the victory with the final score of 12-0, East. “Those games are important to win because it puts you in a good spot for the district tournament,” said senior, Brookelynne Montague.

Goals were made by sophomore Emma Wright; juniors Bailey Chitwood, Sara Hughes, and Alison Shake; seniors Sara Ezell, Chloe Holt, Tayler Mahoney, Kaitlyn Reynolds.

Thursday, Oct. 3, the Lady Chargers played against CAL. The girls took a loss with the final score of 3-0, CAL. “The reason I think we lost was because we didn’t mark the other team as well as we should’ve, resulting in their goals. We need to work as a team and move better together,” said Holt.

The Lady Chargers are keeping their heads up after their defeat and are focusing on making this season their best. “I think our season was one of the best Bullitt East has ever seen because we took on tough teams and came out on top all but three times,” said O’Connor

The Lady Chargers will be playing at Whitefield Academy Monday, Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. It is a District 24 Tournament game.
