Feeding the World

One Financial Literacy class at a time

So the infamous Dave Ramsey states, “The last step to having financial success is to build wrath and give!”

Bullitt East’s financial literacy classes have been incorporated in a project to stop world hunger sponsored by YUM! Inc. The objective of the project is to give volunteer and fundraising efforts towards a chosen organization that aids in ending hunger. After many steps and processes of the project have been completed, a winning team will be granted $25,000 to donate to their charity of choice. Each of the four classes are individual teams, and are fundraising in different ways to win the grant money. Some are selling beef jerky, suckers, donuts, and others are collecting canned goods, and clothing items.

Leader of the project, Mrs. Comstock, believes that it will all come together in the end.

“Part of the curriculum I teach is to build wealth and give it away. Most taking my class do not have the first part, but teaching the second is very important. It ends up to be a process of character building that hopefully will carry them throughout their entire lives,” expressed Comstock.
