The last Superman movie to come out was July 20, 2018. With it being 7 years, will this be just as good as the last Superman movie to come out?
The last Superman movie was The Death of Superman, coming in at a rating of 4.6 out of 5. Movie fans loved this movie. Some said this is the best modern Superman movie since the first one. Will this new Superman movie top it, or will it be worse than other Superman movies?
Superman is a superhero from the planet Krypton who uses his powers to help humanity as a symbol of justice and peace. He has a lot of superhuman powers, including flight, super strength, super speed, and heat vision, but, can be hurt by the radioactive element kryptonite. Superman is a fictional character created by Jerry Siegel, who wanted a superhero who is like no other and shows something special to all people. The new Superman movie came out on July 11, 2025, but some lucky movie watchers got to watch it earlier on July 8, 2025. The movie was filmed in Cleveland, Ohio, and the actual movie set was in Metropolis. James Gunn made the new movie because he thought that the DC universe needed a reboot and a new Superman movie, and fans were surprised by the news of a new one coming out. So far, from the reviews, the new Superman movie is sounding good. I will give it a pre-rating of 3.5.
The new dog addition to Superman (Sparrow) is something different that James Gunn wanted to do, and he thinks that the dog will be a hit for movie watchers. The dog is a great addition to Superman; not only does the dog help Superman because he is getting old, but he also just needs some help. Sparrow at the start of the movie is playing with Superman, but Superman gets hurt, so he drags him to his base, which I think is a nice thing that they added and should be added into other movies like a sidekick-type character. The dog helps Superman again as he is about to go into a drift river in another universe, but Sparrow gets him right before he is about to go in, saving Superman. Not only did he save Superman, but he saved the world because with out Superman, crime rates would go through the roof.
In the movie, Superman was going to save someone from almost getting hit by a car, but then, as he is about to do that, Lex Luthor puts a bad video of Superman’s parents all over the news. He did this by going into Superman’s base and hacking his computer, and got the message. But for Superman, he only got to hear half of the message, and it sounds nice, but Lex Luthor hacks the whole message and finds out that his parents wanted him to destroy all of Earth and not be a superhero. Also, while this is happening, a battle between Earth and this other side of the Earth is about to happen. But Superman can’t help because the police see the bad message from Superman’s parents and arrest him. But little did anyone know Lex Luthor was working with the police, and Lex takes over Superman and puts him in a capsule with kryptonite so he can’t use his powers to get out.
While this is also happening, Lex Luthor pretty much has the whole world to himself, so he makes a pocket dimension. This is where he is storing Superman, so he doesn’t escape, but Superman’s girlfriend finds out something happened to him, so she calls up Falcon and Green Lantern to help her find her boyfriend and make sure he is fine. After a while, they find him in the pocket dimension because Falcon put a tracker in his suit. They go and find the pocket dimension, but by the time they get there, the dimension is destroying itself, and it’s making a black hole. This is bad because he can split the whole side of the world in half, and that won’t be good. So as they go in, they realize that you gotta know how to fly. But Falcon knows how to fly, and he finds Sparrow, and they go and find Superman, and they beam a light on him, the light is as strong as the sun. This is the only way Superman can get healed, so as they are doing this, the black hole has gotten out of hand, and it’s splitting the ground in half and creating a black hole river. But Falcon, Superman, and Sparrow all get out safe, and they stop the black hole, but while the battle was happening, Lex Luthor was moving money to the bad side, and the police find this out and arrest Lex Luthor, and that’s the end of the movie. This is one of the best DC movies I’ve watched in a while, and I would rate this a 4 /5. This is definitely worth the hype, and I would recommend watching this.
