A High Time With High Tides in Destin

Spring break, the time of the year everyone looks forward to.

Last week, students from all across Bullitt County left the state and set off for spring vacation.

As for destinations, Florida has been the go to for high school students looking to have fun on their highly awaited spring vacation. The big state, full of beaches and lots of sun, attracts many students and young adults who hope to vibe near the cool waters with friends. Many students from Bullitt East headed that way this year, making it the “place to be”.

The white sandy shores of Destin, Florida lured students from all over inviting them to a week filled with fun times and tan lines. The lively town was favored as a spring break getaway this year at East. Welcoming many students from across the country, as they all headed to this exciting town last week.

Senior Brae Fredericks, first time spring vacationer, describes her time on the sandy shores. “It was very fun, the beach was beautiful and so was the weather on most of the days we were down there,” said Fredericks. Pleased with her experiences in the town, she plans to make Destin a place of choice for further vacations.

The beach is a great place to be on break. Whether you are throwing a football with a buddy along the shorelines or out tanning on the sands, it’s sure to be a good time.

Traveling to Florida with a group of friends this year, Bullitt East senior Alec Mcguire talks about his experience. “Destin had a lot of fun places to go to and we were able to meet lots of cool people, that we hung out with throughout the trip,” said Mcquire. Hoping to have another spring break like this one next year, he plans to try going somewhere else in Florida to see what’s new.

Other beaches around the state show themselves to be popular as well. Panama is another place of choice. Visiting the town last year Mcquire said, “Panama was fun and there were more people and parties there.” If you’re looking to party with a lot of people, Panama is the place to go.

Whatever town you choose to visit the goal is to have fun. So kick your shoes off, grab a beach towel and chill.
