New school year, new seniors and new seasons.

With summer approaching, these sports are just beginning the preparation for their new seasons, with new leaders.

The end of a school year brings many things. One of those is preparing for the upcoming fall sports. These fall sports are looking at a new season.

Upcoming senior Emily Ezell plays on the girls soccer team. Ezell said, “I think our team will be really good because most of the players from last year’s team will be back we are already conditioning to be in our vest shape.” The girls soccer team this past year won districts, regionals and made it to the first round of state. The girls have a lot to hold up to but they are confident in each other.

Looking into the boys soccer team too, upcoming senior Zak Perdew said, “I think we have a good shot at winning the district tournament and possibly make a run in the regionals. We have a lost of returners and a lot of talent coming back.”

Another upcoming senior is Julia Kromenacker, who is on the volleyball team. Kromenacker said, “I think we have the potential to have a really good season. All of the girls no the team have known each other forever and were best friends so I think that gives us an advantage. We play really well with each other.” The volleyball team was runner up in their district and made it to the second round of regionals.

Other sports to be looking forward to this fall are cross country, golf, and cheerleading.

The soccer, volleyball, cross country and golf teams will have returning coaches this season, however this will be the first season with our newest addition to charger nation, head football coach Ethan Atchley. Soon to be senior, Max Gauthier said, “I think Atchley will do great. He has experience and turned his last school into a winning football team that almost went to state.” The football team is expecting big things this season.

The cheer team has also made some big changes in their coaching staff. In fact, no one on the coaching staff from the past season is still on the staff now. Upcoming senior, Olivia Masden said, “I think that Emily (Emily Harris, the new head coach) will do a great job this year. Like anything new, it will be an adjustment but she has lots of cheerleading experience that will be very helpful as we work towards our season goals.”

Goodluck to all teams as they prepare for their next season.
