New Voice in Choir

Stephanie Robinson is a new voice that has been in helping out choir teacher Carrie Gary for the past two weeks. As a student teacher, Robinson was give the opportunity to work with the choir daily a week before her debut performance as a choir director while Gary attended the Washington, D.C. with the yearbook and journalism staff.

Robinson was excited for Tuesday’s Veterans program because she had “never done a performance like that before.” Though Gary had be given special requests for the song list, Robinson felt that adding “We Shall Overcome / Lean On Me” to the ceremony, -while “not technically patriotic” – tied the emotions in the room all together. In regards to the assembly as whole, Robinson stated “it was a great program,” and got a little teary-eyed in the midst of the activities. Even as a temporary member of Charger Nation, Robinson said that she is “proud to be a part of Bullitt East.”

While Tuesday’s Veterans Day program was the first in school choral production Robinson has conducted here at Bullitt East, however, it will not be her last. “I am here for the rest of the semester, so I will also be helping out with the Fall Concert and other small productions,” explained Robinson.
