Spring break = spring success down at the beach.
The Bullitt East JV and Varsity Baseball teams had a very strong trip to the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida for their spring break training. They played a total of four games, going 3-1 for the week, with their only loss being to Scott County on March 1. The team elevated the game, bonded with each other, and made countless memories while having fun.
“For both teams, it was solid,” junior Dylan Haas said. “A few mishaps here and there, but overall it was a good week”.
Throughout the trip, Hass enjoyed spending time with his teammates and having a change in scenery from being at home. With the weather being warm and the fact that they were always doing stuff, the team got to bond with each other and play against good teams outside of Kentucky. They were all locked in on the field, and had fun off as well.
“We got to learn a lot and get better as a team,” senior Connor Sauss said.
Even on trips, there’s always lessons learned and valuable knowledge to take back home. That’s exactly what this team did, and they did it together as one unit. For Sauss, he got to get better as a player and with his entire team. Some of his favorite parts from the trip are being with his teammates, having fun, and simply getting to play.
Throughout the season, some notable stat leaders include Bradley Myers & Hunter Holland with Most Hits (11 each), Holland with Most Doubles (5), Luke Renfrow with Most Home Runs (1), Chris Logan with Most Wins (3), and Chase Litton with Most Strikeouts (7).
Right now, the team is flowing steady in each and every game with a very strong 10-2 record. Their most recent win was on April 12 when they defeated PRP, the defending state champions and current #1 team in the state, 3-2. With a powerful team that makes games dangerous for opponents, this’ll be a great regular season and postseason.
