A New Way of Learning

New year, new technology.

Students received will receive Chromebooks for the 2016-17 school year

The new technology will change students way of learning. Students will now take notes, do assignments, and write papers all on their Chromebooks. Teachers will also have to change the way they teach to adapt to the new way to learn.

Next year’s freshman, sophomore, and juniors will all receive Chromebooks for this school year. Students will now do you all things that used to take lined paper or would require the class to go to a computer lab on their own device.

Seniors will not be receiving chromebooks. Many thought that it would be an unnecessary change in learning for students who would have to adjust to a change that will only affect them for a short time.

This will cause students to learn in a new way. While taking notes students can quickly choose whichever program that they take notes on and begin typing. Students no longer have to rely on having paper to get work done. That means the days of borrowing paper from your friend are over.

“I think it will help the students. I like that you won’t have to worry about not having paper, but I heard that we’ll have to do work over snow days so I’m kinda upset about that.” Said junior Peyton Meredith.

Of course, there are negatives to the change as well. With the new technology, teachers will often plan things that will be affected by possible internet or application problems.

However some focus more on the positives. With the new technology, Bullitt County is going above the average classroom setting.

“I see no negitives. I think it gives kids more tools. More tools, more work gets done.” said buisness teacher Daniel Rock.

With all the positives and negatives it will certainly change the future of Bullitt East and the way students learn.
