Treats in the Halls

Bullitt county students and or children came to Bullitt East Wednesday the 29th to get some early candy.

Bullitt East houses passes out candy to the community, thanks to the students who volunteered at Bullitt East, and the parents who brought their children to this event.

This event here at Bullitt East has been around for about 7-8 years. Recently the last two years, this event has been even more unique. Bullitt East “houses” which organizes students by their last name. These houses each had a section of a hallway in the school, with an individual theme to make it all more exciting for the children.

House representative of Pisti Brooke Wise gives her opinion on the house, “I really like the houses. At first I thought it wasn’t a good idea. The more I got involve the more I liked it.”

The houses are a big part of what made Halloween in the Halls, without them it would be difficult.

For example one of the themes this year was Disney. Students in that house dress up along with whatever theme their house has. With in each hallway they pass out candy to the children who walk along the way.

Sophomore’ Emily Wiseheart quotes why she volunteered’ “I volunteered because I felt like it would be a good thing to do for the community and the school, and I like making little kids happy.”

This event of course doesn’t just benefit for the children, but the donations which are brought in by the children. Every child was required to bring it a $1 or a can item for the hungry food drive for children, which also raised a lot of money and goods.

“This event is a good thing, for the children and parents. It gives us a bonding experience, and memories we won’t forget. Plus, the kids love candy.” Said John Williams, parent of a student in the community.
