This past week, the girls golf team made their way into the state tournament.

Sophomore Macie Brown was the only golfer to play in this week’s regional match at Elizabethtown Country Club, winning with a shot of 73 (+1).

When talking about how he felt to see Macie succeed in the match, Coach Steinmetz said, “It felt great. I knew it was a matter of time that she would win one. I was excited to see it happen.” Macie looks forward to going to state this upcoming week. When asked what her strategy for going into the state tournament was, Brown said, “My plan to win is just to go out there and focus on one shot at a time and execute each shot to the best of my ability.”

State is up next for girls golf. The state tournament will be Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10.
