“There’s no better feeling than stepping out on the field and stunning them all by doing what none of them thought you could do.”- Ashlyn Harris, Gotham FC goalkeeper until 2022’
The Bullitt East Girls Soccer is back on the field. After an almost unbeatable season, we’re all excited to see how they’ll be doing this season.
“I feel like so far it’s been kind of rocky as far as the start of the season, with having a new coach, figuring out a different style of play, since the year the season started, it’s been a little hard for us to figure out I do expect us to get a little more comfortable as we play more games, but, so far, I’ve been pretty proud of us, considering all of the circumstances.” Savannah Mooney said.
The Bullitt East girls’ soccer team is preparing for the 2025 fall season. Many players are excited for the season, even with a new coach with a completely different coaching style. “We all really like the new coach, actually, and that’s not just me saying that. We all really, really like him. We’re all really grateful to have somebody who knows so much and connects with us so well.” Mooney said. So far this season, the soccer team has played against Tates Creek, North Oldham, North Bullitt, Brown, Collins, Siegel, and Oldham County, winning 5 out of the 7 games.
“Compared to last season, the team has changed drastically. First off, the coaching has definitely changed a lot, so our dynamic has changed as well. I just think overall it’s a lot more positive. I feel like there aren’t really any cliques, we’re all just one big group, so I think that’s a good improvement.” Anna Tinelli said. This season has come with some big changes for the team, good and bad, but this season is already shaping out to be another great season for the girls’ soccer team.
