Foster scores again after signing with EKU.

With her friends and family supporting her, senior Christian Foster has decided to finish her schooling and soccer experience at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU).

Foster was looking for a school that best fit her, and it just happened EKU was that school for her. There weren’t many schools that were able to show interest in Foster before she had already made her decision, but her friends and family supported her through her choice. She hopes to learn a lot on and off the field.

She chose to sign with Eastern because she really likes the Richmond area. She also likes that the population of the school isn’t too big, and she feels it is a good size for her to continue her experience. Foster said, “I have never really had a dream school. When I decided to play soccer I knew I didn’t want to go to a really big school, so I just looked for a school that best fit me and EKU ended up being that school.”

Foster attended camp at Western Kentucky University (WKU) her sophomore year, but it was to early for the school to start showing interest. Once she attended Eastern’s camp she immediately loved it and decided to put all her energy into getting recruited by them. At Eastern’s camp she got to meet some of the coaches and players, which only made EKU a better fit for her and her preferences.

While her friend, senior Jenny Robertson, may wish she was going to Louisville with her, all of Foster’s friends and family are extremely excited about her playing soccer in college.

Senior soccer player Kelsey Castle said, “I’m honestly so proud of her. We started playing together back in the 7th grade and I’ve been able to watch her grow as a player. I know she’ll be able to compete at the D1 level because of her competitiveness, dedication and the hard work she puts in at every practice. It’s is just one of those things that I would support her no matter what. It’s all about what makes her happy.”

“I hope to do really well in school, that’s my number one priority. With soccer I hope to win the OVC conference tournament and advance to the NCAA tournament,” said Foster. While not exactly sure, Foster plans to major in either accounting or finance. She wishes that with the school of business and the coaching staff at EKU she’ll continue to learn on and off the field.
