This is Sierra Karner and she is a junior. This is her first year on the staff and she is a staff writer. She is taking journalism because she enjoys writing articles and learning new things about the people around her. She is involved in Beta Club and Project Unify at school and works at Five Star part time.

Sophomore Kate Cissell uses her height to jump up above the net and attack the ball. Being able to attack the ball and get a flashy hit is great and all but I could literally never do it without the passers and setters, Cissell said.

Junior Torrie Frist stepped up as libero while senior McKenna Humphrey was out due to an injury. “Through the season we had a lot of sickness or injuries which causes a lot of change, but we always played hard and had underclassmen step up to the role,” senior Morgan Butler said.

Getting a good point in the game after a long rally really sets the mood of the game. My teammates are my  family and getting to play with them was the best part about the sport, senior Grace Satterfield said.

Nothing is better than the feeling of turning back around after just getting a kill and seeing the excitement in your teammates and coaches. Its the feeling that makes me keep playing even through the hardest times, Puckett said.

Having Whitefield as the first round of districts had us a little nervous at first going in because we had gone five with them in the middle of the season but as soon as the game started I think we all knew we had it. We set a goal for ourselves after losing the first game that we would beat them out the next three and we did that, senior Mckenna Humphrey said.
