BEHS Blood Drive is Back

It’s back on and better than ever.

The Bullitt East blood drive is now rescheduled.

The blood drive was set for late last semester, but some issues got in the way and it was canceled. The leaders of the National Honors Society both felt very frustrated by this. The blood drive is now back on for February 27th, but this push back may cause some things to change.

The annual Bullitt East Blood Drive was set for November 5th, 2014, but there was a sudden cancellation. “We had secured a date, and I got everything ready, and I told them okay good to go, and then she goes ‘Oh, we didn’t secure that date,’ so it was a miscommunication,” said Spanish teacher Brandi Molter.

Both Molter and psychology teacher Sarah Akridge had strong opinions about this sudden cancellation. “It was a really big inconvenience for us because we already had it set up, and people were already willing to donate,” said Akridge.

This rescheduling will cause a huge negative effect on scholarships. “Normally we give about $1000 away a year in scholarships, but this year I think we’ll be lucky to get $500,” said Molter.

Although all of this came with so many negative effects, both Molter and Akridge see one good thing. “I think we’ll actually have a better turn out now because people want to donate, they really do and they didn’t get the chance in the fall,” said Molter.
