Trying out and showing off.

The Bullitt East baseball team held tryouts on February 15th.

Due to the snowstorm, the baseball team had to move indoors for tryouts. There were no cuts made. Overall, the team has high expectations entering the season.

The snow, ice, and cold winds have interfered with baseball tryouts, open fields, and practices. The boys have been working hard so far this year, and they have yet to practice outdoors. Tryouts were held indoors at Kentucky Sports Academy, previously known as Ninja.

Jeff Bowles, head baseball coach, said, “Our hardships have been our less-than-cooperative- weather. We’ve yet to be outside and we have 15 days until our first game. We don’t worry about it because we don’t really control it. We will do the best we can with what we have and prepare as well as we can for our first game March 13th.”

Like previous years, there were no cuts made during tryouts. It was a one day tryout, and that was it. The roster for the 2015 season has been finalized. The team includes 54 players, six of which are seniors.

Last season, the boys went 27-8. Coming off an excellent season, there is a lot of pressure for the boys to do just as well. As always, the highest goal the team sets for themselves is to win a state-championship. Overall, though, the boys just wish for a good season and to bring home the 12th consecutive district title.
