It’s been a good season, but color guard is coming to a close.
With their last competition on Nov. 8, the season ends. With a successful season, everyone can put away their rifles and flags and rest.
Considering how well the season went, and how much better it was from the last few years, this close will be a relaxing breath for the BE Color Guard. This also considering the fact that they had almost a completely new team this year. Everyone grew and they’re pumped up for the upcoming winterguard season.
Colorguard has had a competitive season- with a competition almost every single weekend. This doesn’t even include the Friday night halftime shows at the Bullitt East football games. “The season has been good, I feel like we have grown as a whole group rather than independently. The new kids are starting to learn how to be in time, and it’s showing,” Caleb Mitchell said.
This team was flipped on it’s head at the beginning of the season, and everyone wanted to know how their brand new team would play out. It paid off. These new members learned quickly, helped out, and boosted the team significantly. “This season overall went surprisingly well, considering the majority of the team was new; they really pulled through to help our team get better,” Kadence Boccia said.
Everyone on this team had so much fun this year from the bus rides to competitions- to the early morning practices. Winterguard is now starting to commence and all members are ecstatic about it. “This season was a great one for all of us. We grew not only individually but as a team as well. I am so grateful for my team and everything we have accomplished up to this point,” Molly Rushing said.
