Bullitt East Opens New Opportunities for Students

Entering the 2026–27 school year students will have six new electives to consider from all subjects.

First up is Math Lab, this is either a semester or year-long class at the discretion of students. This class is similar to a study hall, but the supervising teacher will be a math teacher. This class can help students improve their math skills as the teacher will reteach any concepts students are unsure about or were absent for. This class does not count as a math class, only an elective.

The next addition is Intro to Probability and Statistics, an available prerequisite for AP Statistics but not required, similar to Intro to Psychology. This class is only a semester long and is only available to juniors and seniors, it also does not count as a math credit for the year.

While already technically a class, the Math ACT Remediation has been rebranded to SAT Math Preparation. Tips this class will include are testing strategies, Desmos guidance, and the math content on the SAT. This is a semester-long class that is open to anyone looking to improve their SAT score or prepare for the coming test, not just those who did not reach the benchmark.

Similar to Math ACT Remediation, English/Reading ACT remediation has also been rebranded into SAT English/Reading Preparation. This is a semester-long class that will help students improve their SAT score and prepare them for the test. Curriculum includes testing strategies such as time consciousness and grammar.

The language electives welcome a new addition, Spanish Medical Terminology. This year-long class can help students in the Medical pathway become more versatile. This class does not count as a Spanish 2 credit and is recommended that students have at least Spanish 1 as a prerequisite.

Along with Spanish Medical Terminology, French Literature is also a new addition to the roster. This is a year-long class that goes in depth into France’s notable writing works. Similar to Spanish Medical Terminology this class does not count as a French 2 credit and a French 1 prerequisite is recommended.

This is Rylin Wall. She is a sophomore, and this is her first year on staff. This year she is a Livewire copy editor. She enjoys photography, and improving already amazing articles. Inside school she is Vice President of Active Minds, member of  Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Leaders of East, and on the youth service center advisory council.
