Senior night or Loren night?

Bullitt East softball team held their senior night for their lone senior on Wednesday, May 13th.

The softball team played Bullitt Central on Wednesday and picked up the 10-0 win. Senior Loren Roby pitched a no-hitter in the game. Roby pitches for the Lady Chargers in her senior year.

Many people would think that they wouldn’t want to be the only senior on a big night like this. Having all the attention didn’t affect Roby. “I liked being the only senior not to necessarily be in control of everything but having that responsibility for everyone and trying to be a leader for everyone,” said Roby.

The rest of the team did everything possible to make this night special for her. They stayed after school to decorate for the game. This includes streamers, fence signs, posters, etc. The girls hard work paid off as Roby said, “It was everything I hoped it would be.”

Although this was one of the last regular season games, the season is far from over. The Lady Chargers will compete in district play this upcoming week, facing J-Town on Tuesday. “I think that we will get past districts without too much trouble and I think we have a good possibility of going to state,” said Roby.

The season is coming to an end, with a perfect night for senior Loren Roby.
