Bullitt County Battle

District rivals Bullitt East and North Bullitt will face off on the 16th.

The 2-6 Chargers will play the 7-1 Eagles on Friday in a game which could affect who wins the 5A district 3 championship. Bullitt East has had a down year so far by previous season standards. The Eagles have had one of their best seasons in school history through eight games.

North Bullitt and South Oldham are currently tied for 1st in 5A district 3 with a 3-0 record. This past week, North Bullitt beat Nelson County 48-25, which gave them four straight victories. Last week South Oldham beat Bullitt East 41-0, which put their winning streak at six games.

The Chargers did get a much needed win against Bullitt Central two weeks ago. It gave East their second district win as well as its second overall win. East is currently predicted to be the 20th overall team in the 5A playoffs. The Chargers have the best district record for a team outside the top 15.

The Eagles started the season with a loss but have been rolling towards the end of the season with four straight wins. North Bullitt also beat Bullitt Central however, it was a much closer game with a final score of 47-44.

With North Bullitt’s high-powered offense and Bullitt East’s strong defense and it will certainly be a fun matchup to watch and because both teams have a win over Bullitt Central the winner of tonight’s game will also win the Bullitt Cup.
