After a week of rest, the archery team takes on the Region 5 KY NASP Tournament.

With a few obstacles standing in the way, the archery team still managed to compete to the best of their abilities and place third. The next step is to prepare for the next large tournament, which will take place March 4. Based on their recent performances, the archery team expects to do well in the next tournament.

On Feb. 17 and 18, the archery team competed in the Region 5 KY NASP Tournament. Junior archer Jaque Morsey said, “I believe we did pretty good, [I’m] proud of our team. Even with one of my teammates injured, he still shot in the 280. Anyone that wasn’t doing so good that tournament we still try to encourage to not give up from one bad arrow.”

On Friday and Saturday, archers Amanda Jump, KC Corum, Michael Attwell and Sydney Marcum all shot above 270.

On March 4, the team will face the Moore Louisville Invitational tournament, in which they have over a week to prepare for. To do so, Coach Jason Waddle has set up practices three nights a week where he asks all of his team members to attend. This will help the team better themselves not only individually, but as a whole team.

Due to the fact that the team is making plans to practice and prepare multiple times a week in the meantime, Morsey said, ‘[I think we will do] pretty good.”
