Miami is heating up as they go for the gold.

The Miami Heat take the 8th seed to try and make a playoff run.

The Miami Heat are seven and three in their last ten games to help them steal the eighth seed from the Detroit PIstons. Both teams have been battling it out for the eighth seed recently but still have a losing record. Miami was not expected to do well this year after losing NBA star Dwyane Wade to the Chicago Bulls.

It has been rough for Miami recently after Lebron James left the team in 2014, but Miami still looked strong. Chris Bosh still suffers from a possible career ending injury that he may not come back from, this injury is affecting Miami’s budget as he is their top paid player and has not played a single game in the 2016-17 season. Dwyane Wade, arguably Miami’s best player, left the last offseason and there were no hopes for Miami. They have strived to make the playoffs though even after going through all of this.

The young talents on the team are helping to lead them to the playoffs. Dion waiters has improved much in his abilities on the court to help Miami that he is being considered for the NBA’s most improved player award for the 2016-17 offseason. Goran Dragic has also seen averaging 20.2 PPG (points per game), 3.9 RPG (rebounds per game), and 5.9 APG (assist per game). Hassan Whiteside is the one leading this team though averaging 16.8 PPG, 14.2 RPG, and 2.1 BPG (blocks per game), he is currently averaging a double-double.

If Miami can continue moving up on the standings, they may have a playoff run but if they are stuck at eighth seed it may be difficult for them to defeat the top team in the east in the Cleveland Cavaliers. Miami also plans to make some changes in the offseason also by releasing Chris Bosh who is doubtful to make a return to the NBA.
