Boys Season Ending Recap

Boys golf comes to an end.

The boys 2017 golf season comes to an end as senior Mark Murphy misses the second round cut by 1 stroke.

The boys completed their season winning most of their matches and losing a few.  Murphy was the only player on the team to qualify for state. Three senior graduated this year.

Murphy is the leader of the boys team. Unfortunately losing at state was the last time he will play as a charger. He not only left a mark on his coach but also on his teammates. “He will definitely be missed next year,” said head golf coach Kyle Downs.

The boys had a decent season winning most of their matches but losing a few as well. They look to capitalize next year with most of the players returning. “ I think we’re looking pretty good for next year, we’re pretty much set as far as depth,” said Downs.

The boys have always been decent and intend to stay that way for as long as possible. All the team can do now is work especially hard in the offseason and get ready for next year to try and compete for regionals.

The boys will miss Murphy being their leader, but hopefully they can carry on his tradition of going to state without him. “I believe in all of my teammates to carry on the tradition,” said Murphy.
