An AP Exam is an end of the year test taken by students that have participated in the class all year.

There are a total of 16 AP exams. There are over 200 students taking an AP exam. If the student taking the exam is to pass, they will get a college credit and if they don’t, they will not.

There are a total of 16 AP exams at Bullitt East this year. These exams include Chemistry, Psychology, Spanish, Physics, English Literature, U.S. Gov, Environmental Science, U.S. History, Biology, Calculus, English Language, Macroeconomics, World History, Statistics, Human Geography and Studio Art. The exams will be taken in this order from Monday, May 7 to Friday, May 18.

There are 222 students taking AP exams this year. When you take an AP exam you are part of a grant that gives back $42.50, roughly half of the exam fee. However, this grant is only offered to students taking a math, science or english exam. If a student is to score a 3 or higher in math science or english, they get $100 back which is four dollars more than the AP exam fee.

AP coordinator Dana Steinmetz said, “next year that money will not be there as we will no longer be part of that grant. I predict a decline in number of students willing to take the exams next year.”

A lot of students do not take AP exams because they think that there will be a consequence if they are to fail it like failing the class or something along those lines. Those students do not take the time to realize that nothing have nothing to lose taking an AP exam.
