This year’s Bullitt East Volleyball team isn’t just showing up to play; they are showing up to win.
With returning juniors and seniors, and new talent this year, the Chargers are focused on pushing their limits and making this season one to remember.
This season, the volleyball team aims to combine experience with new energy as they strive for growth, tougher competition, and increased wins. With a strong work ethic and a drive to improve each game, the team is determined to make this year one that sets the tone for the future.
The seniors are thrilled for this upcoming season. They are soaking up every moment, knowing that this is their last high school volleyball season. It’s a mix of excitement and bittersweet emotion. For Booke Morris and Josslyn Graves, this season is more about the wins and the losses, it’s about the bonds they built, and the legacy they are leaving. “I want the younger girls to think of me as someone who keeps the mood up, because I always try to be funny and make a joke,” says Brooke Morris. The Seniors are excited for this season and hope it’s gonna be one to remember. Brooke Morris and Jocelyn Graves care about how they leave this program and want the younger ones to remember their legacy. Josslyn Graves says, “I hope the younger say I’m exclusive and say I’ve been welcoming.”
This year, the team is ready for this upcoming season. It’s a mix of emotion, between seniors leaving after this season, and the underclassmen stepping up. The team as a whole feels ready for what this next season will have to offer. The volleyball team has high expectations for this season. Grace Varney says, “I want this year to be competitive and for everyone to have fun, and I want all the girls to mesh well.” The team is determined to have an unforgettable season. They know there are challenges ahead, like when they face North Bullitt this year, but they know they will be doing it together, and with all of the strengths they have as a team, there is no doubt they can do it. Aubrey Brown says, “We work well together because we are all so close in age, and we aren’t scared to communicate well.
This season, Grace Varney is looking forward to a really competitive season, and she wants everyone to have fun. A new goal she has for the team is to beat North Bullitt because, even though they have beaten them before, since they’re in the district this year, they really have to beat them this season. Aubrey Brown thinks this year is going to be the most fun because of all the new girls they have on the team this year. Aubrey believes that the team is going to bond more over all the fun they have at tournaments. Aubrey Brown said, “At our first tournament, where we all went out to ice cream and Malibu jacks at 10-11 pm, when we had a 9 am game the next day.”
