Starting The Football Season With a Win

Friday night lights are back.

The Chargers took home their first win with the final score being 28-14, against Spencer County Aug. 27. A couple big plays by juniors Nolan Davenport, Travis Egan, Mason Gauthier and Camron Brogan.

Although, what really set them off was a 100 yard kickoff by Brogan, which was a big moment in the game, that gave them the momentum they needed.  “I just hit the ball up the middle, my blockers did a great job and I had one man to beat,” said Brogan.

There was a great turnout at the game, fans and the Red Zone Rowdies were excited to be back.  “It was a great atmosphere. Both student sections were loud and cheering the whole game. It felt like high school football is supposed to feel,” said Receivers Coach Tyler Faucett.

When reflecting on the game both players and coaches agree they have a lot more work to put in. “We are going to work on fundamentals to correct mistakes from Friday night. We know we have to play better each week as we build for our district schedule,” said Faucett.

Their next game is Sept. 3, at 7:30 p.m at North Bullitt.
