A season that still echoes
This year’s Bullitt East marching band sees a great season
Bullitt East’s Marching Band has found remarkable success this season, with many wins that will push them through the years ahead.
Throughout fall, Marching band has managed to get four top five finishes and a reserve grand championship trophy. “This season was a demonstration of remarkable growth for this group,” Band director Jason Novak said.
According to Novak, this year’s Marching band is the second largest in school history, and it has earned the highest scores since 2019. “This was our best BOA performance to date,” Novak said.
Drum Major Kayleigh Holzknecht also believes that this season was one of the best. “This season has been super successful with nearly every competition being a top five finish out of nearly twenty bands every comp, including Grand Reserve Champion at one,” Holzknecht said
While this season was outstanding, there were still improvements that were needed. Many wanted to see the community play a bigger role in Marching band, especially in support. “We would love to see more support from the community,” Holzknecht said
